The bookkeeper is going to be in charge of keeping track of the financial ledger for your janitorial business. They will input debits and credits onto a ledger. This is an important responsibility, but it is not that complicated.

An accountant then takes that information and takes it a step further. The accountant has to be able to use that information to come up with detailed financial reports, such as the balance sheet and the income statement.

Which One to Use

Every business is going to have different needs when it comes to making this decision. If you are going to be a relatively small business, a bookkeeper may be sufficient. However, if you are a larger business with more complicated finances, you might want to hire an accountant.
